Art goes Kapakka 5.12.2017 – programme released!

Independence Day will be present and visible in restaurants all over town with the Art Goes Kapakka festival taking over bars and restaurants with free concerts.

The beloved summertime festival makes a special winter appearance to celebrate the 100th birthday of Finland. On 5 December, the eve of the big day, the city event makes it way to a long list of “kapakkas” or, local restaurants, bars, and other watering holes.

What to expect? A fabulous evening of music and other performing arts, with events running from the afternoon till late at night. All-time favourite soloists, newcomer duets, upcoming stars, and an all-around array of fun performers. Art Goes Kapakka breathes life into the city and sprinkles the many restaurants and bars with brilliant talent and artistry.

The Tour of Choirs has gained popularity through the years and become one of the biggest choir events in the country. The legendary event takes the streets with plenty of song-filled pitstops in a birthday edition featuring twenty choirs. The row of performances starts in the downtown area on Tuesday 5 December at 6 pm.

All Art Goes Kapakka events are free of entry unless otherwise stated.
